Basic Questions About WF 2 : Infopath Forms

Asked By: Grace    Date: Jul 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 778

I have create a form library with a default content.

When anybody creates a new form the form is displayed, and user fills it.

When s/he tries to save the form a box asking form name appears.

Can we some how by-pass the save screen and save the form with a default pattern

without asking to the user?

I did this by doing the following:

In InfoPath, I went into the form  Options (under Tools) and de-
selected the "Save" and "Save As" options in the Browser Category. I
then deselected the "Save and Save As" option in the "Open and Save"
Category. I then publish my form to the library.

Then I use SharePoint Designer to create  workflow that fires upon the
creation of an item in that library. I control how the form is named
from there.

Don't know if there is an easier way, but it seems to be working for
me!

Another way you could do this would be to configure the submit
options in InfoPath. In there when you select submit to a SharePoint
library you can choose what the file name is based off of some
criteria in the form  or function. This will then give the user
another option other than save  or save as.
