Bad SSL Certficate - Search, Other Effects?

Asked By: Ronald    Date: Apr 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 600

On our pre-production environment, our SSL certificate has the user
warning "ssl cert does not match host name". In this environment, we
see odd things happen from time to time including...

>Search stop workings every now and then (on the order of every two
weeks)
>Slide show doesn't work, missing control buttons.

Anyone else have this type of environment and see oddities?

The browser warning that the SSL cert doesn't match  should not cause the
search problem. The slide show  may be an ActiveX control  (haven't ever
looked) so I suppose it could have an impact.

I've not see either of these oddities.

There is a setting in the rule properties to ignore SSL certificate
warnings.

I do not have a box available here at the airport, so I can't give you a
screen shot-working from memory.
