Anything but the vbs script MS ships you with ;)
We're just waiting till CommVault releases it's backup  tool and hope it
does what the specs say.

To start: Yes, I work for CommVault and am biased. Here's an update:

I handle CV's Advanced Applications (SPP, Exchange, SQL, Notes, AD, etc.)
and our Microsoft relationship. We were the first to deliver support  for SPP
over a year ago. The support then was what we call "Database Level". This
allowed you to globally manage all your backups and restores and allowed
cross server  restore. You could also, easily avoid the VBS Scripts and
backup to ANY media device (magnetic, tape, M/O, your flash stick from your
camera, (heck, it's supported within Microsoft RSM). (;.).

We added Doc Level features, in an Early Release program (similar to
Microsoft's "RC" process) about 6 months ago. This was in partnership with
some of our customers. During this time, we took in requests and added
features and will be releasing a Generally Available Doc Level product  in a
couple of months, with the following enhancements, on top of Doc Level
Restore:

* Restore by Document, Category or Workspace (in the event of
Workspace, the workspace must be created ahead of time [SPP limitation]).
* Docs can be restored as "Created", "Checked-In" or "Published".
* Docs can be restored to a different SPP Server, Workspace or Folder
* Added Incremental and Differential backup  options
* Restore all backed up versions of doc's, associated with a doc.
(Yes, we often see multiple backups per day with CommVault, due to our
incremental indexing).

We'll be starting the final Early Release process on this, starting in the
first week of July. If you would like to work with us on this, please let me
know. This would be the equivalent of "RC3" for a MSFT product.

I would also be interested in hearing from folks, what they would like this
product to do in the future. Those of you who know us, realize we continue
to add functionality as we go, most of which comes from partners and
customers suggestions.
