Backup and Restore SPPS and WSS sites

Asked By: Reynaldo Underwood         Date: Nov 27, 2003      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1560

Here's an all time DBA question. I have a SPPS site (default site
created once I installed SPPS 2003). I also have a couple of WSS sites
that have document libraries. Now... How do I backup all of these sites
and restore them in case there is a need.

Use the backup  and restore  utility that installs with SPS.

Use smigrate.exe to do site  level backup  and restores. Simple and works well. You can find it in \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\BIN directory
