Backup file integrity

Asked By: Wayne    Date: Nov 21    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 905

I am running the msdmback.vbs script to back up my production server. The
backup seems to run perfectly but when I try to restore it to my 'stand-by'
server, it corrupts the SharePoint installation on the stand-by server. How
can I verify the integrity of my back up file? Has anyone else experienced
this behavior? My servers are both Win2K w/SP3 and both are on SPS Service
Pack 2a.

When you restore, does it complete without error? I think in the last
summit we figured (or someone was going to ask Microsoft) that the
backup process doesn't do checksums but the restore  does.
