Authorisation & Subscription Notifications

Asked By: Katharine    Date: Sep 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 556

I've been trying to follow a thread on Subscription notifications
which mentions a PLEX tool. I've had Sharepoint up and running for a
few weeks now, been busy implementing categories, keywords, document
library and security and notifications has taken a back seat until

I know the SMTP server on the box is working, but the notifcations
for subscriptions and authorisations don't seem to be going out at
all..what is this PLEX tool that's been mentioned, and do I need to
use to to make notifications work?

You need to take a look at these two articles from MS:

The first article will have you verify if the scheduled tasks for
subscription notifications  are setup correctly:

The second article will have you use the PLEX tool  to disable the
subscription notifications as well as enable subscription  notifications:

Let me know if you still have questions.

I have a couple more questions..

I followed the procedure in the first article and everything was set
up correctly. OK so far.

I also followed the second one, however, it is missing a step, when
you hit REFRESH in the PLEX tool, you see no fields, and right-
click "New Field" does nothing. Not until you select an item in the
left side can you add a new field, but WHERE are you supposed to add
it (does it matter? I added it to "Portal Content")

I set the value of DisablesubScriptionNotification to True, then
reset it to False. (the MS document does have that in there either,
but I assumed that was the logical thing to do).

Any help appreciated if I did something wrong.
