Audit Logs

Asked By: Angelique Ayala         Date: Jan 03, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 254

Is there any way to track when someone deletes a user from a team site.
I have an issue that has occurred where all the members of a team site
and all sub sites were deleted except for the three administrators. No
one is owning up to it so the powers that be want to know if there is a
way for us to track who did what out the box.

You didn't say if you were using SharePoint 2003 or 2007. That would have been
a big help. If I knew that information I'd get into a more detailed response.
Short answer is that there is no way in 2003. You could maybe look through your
IIS logs  to see who hit the user.aspx page in that site. I don't think you can
do it in 2007 either. There is some auditing, but I don't think it covers this,
just documents.

We are using 2003. Thanks for the input and for making me laugh. It was
tense here.
