Areas and listings gone in MOSS 2007? What happens in upgrade from

Asked By: Gaurang    Date: Aug 30    Category: MOSS    Views: 908

As my company looks at moving from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007, I am
wondering what will happen to content stored at the portal level? I
hear that areas and listings don't exist in MOSS 2007, so where do
they go when you upgrade?

I'm personally not a fan of the portal areas/listings as they are
right now (I like keeping as much content as possible in appropriate
WSS sites instead), but what do I need to do to prep for the upgrade?
We have lots of stuff in area lists and portal listings.

I haven't yet had the opportunity to play in a MOSS sandbox, so I'm
still quite clueless and struggling to understand some of the changes.
Thanks for pointing me to any resources you think would be helpful!

I don't work with MOSS any more than I must, but I believe that the
following is true:

-Areas become sites
-Listings become list items in a Links list
