Area permissions issue

Asked By: Chelsea Gray         Date: Aug 12, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 214

We are experiencing an issue with SPS2003 area permissions.

When creating an area and allowing eiter inherited or explicit
permissions for an 'all users' type domain group we get the following
error when trying to access the resource as a domain user.

'Access denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or
access this resource.'

Admin accounts have no issues accessing the area though?.

Can those same users  access the Home page of the portal or sites? Check IIS - are you using NTLM, have you configured anonymous authentication anywhere and is your server in a Win2k3 domain?

in Active Directory, is your "All Users" domain  group a security group  or a distribution group?

The All Users group  is a security group.
