Area not available when performing Portal Search

Asked By: Parvesh    Date: Jun 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 757

We have Ver2 SP, shared services on.

When performing a Portal search, scope= all sources, we get a returned
set of `hits'

In upper left corner you can select a number of views of these hits:
By Site
Simple List
By Author
By Date
By Area

When we choose the "By Area" view we get "Area not available"

what does "Area not available" mean??

"Area not available" is shown for search  results that belong to
Sites. Since Sites do not belong to Areas, they are grouped together
under this heading.

I guess I am missing something here-----

We use Topic Areas to build taxonomies--- whenever I create a new
topic area  I say "yes"— to "Include in search  results".

I expected to find the imbedded text of Topic Areas and
their "listings" to appear in Portal search results. But—they do
not.

Does anyone have Topic Area content returned via a Portal search??
