Archiving Audit Logs

Asked By: Meredith    Date: Nov 26    Category: MOSS    Views: 2805

This is regarding performance impact on Audit Logs in MOSS 2007. The audit
logs are captured in dbo.AuditData table in content database. Right now we have
enabled audit for View, Create, Update, and Delete blogs from the "Posts" list.
MOSS creates one record for each of the events that we have enabled auditing.

Our client have 240,000+ users. This will defintely have a huge impact on
storage and performance.

1. Is there a way to clear audit logs after say, 90 days?
2. How to reduce performance impact?
3. How to backup audit logs?

I believe they are only kept for 30 days anyway.
