April 2010 Cumulative Update not Updating Farm Version

I applied the April 2010 cumulative update (981042) to our MOSS farm with SP2
installed and showing version 12.0.0.6421. When I completed the update
without errors I expected to see the version number update. My version still
shows the SP2 version 12.0.0.6421. Is that normal for this cumulative update?
