Depending on what rights you have you shouldn't simply be
able to use the drop down menu and select the "Workflows" option. In the
workflow option select the approval workflow and run through that. If that
does not work, check for an "Approve/Reject" menu item.

Since I'm the admin, I've given myself owner permissions accross the
site. I've tried the workflow, but following that path approves the
workflow, not the image itself, it still says draft in the status
column. I've looked everywhere for an option to approve/reject
without any luck.

Workflows require you to have Edit Items permissions on the list, some
workflows require Manage Lists permissions. Just because you're an admin
doesn't mean you can do anything and everything, as we've found out.
