I've been testing my SPS site and I've noticed that authors whose
documents were rejected have no idea that they were rejected. Are
there ways were I can fix this? Any webparts?

Sorry, SPS does not provide for that. For right now about the best
suggestion is to download and install the Document Status Web part from
the reskit online. With this web part, a user can see the status of the
their docs.

try this link http://www.spsfaq.com/downloads.asp?postid=579
remember you must have installed sps  Service Pack 1.
I tried myself but for some reason the author of the document rejected  isn't
notified back with an email.

thanks! i've checked the link and found out that it makes use of e-
mails, which is sort of a problem for my implementation. do you any
other idea  that doesn't involve e-mails?

For these files to work and notify the doc author why
it was rejected  I had to enable the smtp service on
the server. I suppose you could modify the
"rejectcomments.asp" to use exchange server but I
haven't tried that. Works great when smtp is enabled.
