Applying RSS (Really Simple Syndication) into Sharepoint

Does anyone ever explore using RSS in Sharepoint? Can RSS apply into
Sharepoint? Looking for some hints.

For an RSS generator look at:

For an RSS reader look at:

It's also important to mention that the next version of Sharepoint has RSS
support built in.
