Applying permissions from a workstation

Asked By: Jenny Grant         Date: Apr 10, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 215

I am looking for a little guidance. I am logged in with Admin privileges
to a workstation, I cannot apply permissions to my Sharepoint structure,
when I try I am getting a user/group listing for the local server that
Sharepoint is installed on, not the Domain listing of the user base.

Have you tried selecting the domain  from the drop down 'Look in' box at the
top of the permissions  window?

Had the same problem. We were using a hardcoded IP setup on that
workstation. When we changed over to DHCP and got the correct DNS everything
cleared up. You may want to see how you are resolving DNS. Just a thought.
Cool to hear from someone in Berlin. Some relatives have lived over there
years ago.

That was the problem DNS issues. I was working, thinking a problem with
Active Directory. You put me back on track!
