Apply Hot Fix 939592 to MOSS 2007 with errors

Asked By: Palak    Date: Oct 18    Category: MOSS    Views: 936

I have a server farm with one back end with SQL 2005 and Front end
with MOSS 2007. In order to fix the workflow email issue, I obtained
Hot Fix for WSS 3.0 939592 and apply to a virtual tresting
environment. After I installed it, I ran the configuration wizard and
it fialed at step 8. I tried one more time, the same results.

I rebooted the server and try the stsadm -o upgrade with -
forcedupgrade command and failed. The error messages are pretty much
the same:

The specified SPContentDatabase Name=XXXX
Parent=SPDatabaseServiceInstance has been upgraded to a newer version
of SharePoint. Please upgrade this SharePoint application server
before attempting to access this object.

I did some search and noticed that Hot Fix 941422 also generated
similar errors. However the difference to my case is everything looks
OK. I have the issue fixed the way I expected. I could access sites
and open central admin and SSP admin pages. I also started a
incremental crawling and had no major issues.

Anyone has similar issues and how did you resolve it? Or the errors
came from the HOt Fix is for WSS 3.0 and I have MOSS 2007?
