Anyone running Sharepoint on Virtual Server 2005?

Going back to my local admin question - the idea was suggested to run our Sharepoint on Virtual Server 2005. We have retail copies now - anyone use it or have experience with it?

Any thought on running it virtually?

Not on the Virtual Server/PC 2004. However I have attempted an installation
on VMWare (v4??) it runs and works within guest system env. Whenever I tried
to access it over the net it always get confused with the SP installation on
Host Machine. It does respond OK if host machine IIS is not running (I have
not tried to figure out why)

I don't see why it shouldn't work. I used SharePoint with Virtual PC 2004.

However I will not recommend using Virtual Server to avoid performance bottleneck unless you have some decent hardware to install it on

We use both Virual PC and virtual Server for our test and development environments and SharePoint appears to run fine. Just make sure that you configure the virtual machine to use a seperate ip address on the physical network rather than shareing the host's ip address.
