Some discussions are starting about which Antivirus for MOSS 2007 we
should use, and I've seen conflicting reports about Portal Shield. Some
say it's the best thing since sliced bread, others have complained about
it taking their portal offline.

While my gut feeling, is to go with ForeFront, I'd like to get the
group's opinion first.

I would go with forefront. MS does that for some of their larger data
centers. If they are willing to drink their own koolaid on that one, I would say
they must think it is something special. At the least you also know if there are
any flaws, MS will find them and fix them quick.

With Forefront, you also gain the ability to block message content by word
matches and they will be improving the functionality with the next release. I
have not seen any other anti-virus for SharePoint have that feature.

If you do look at Forefront, I recommend running two engines for real time
scanning and then looking at doing scheduled scans off hours (like the weekend)
