More on anonymous users and SP2010

Asked By: Jonathan    Date: Oct 15    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1589

I have been given an Internet-facing blog site running under SP Foundation 2010
(is SPF2010 our approved abbreviation?). I have played around with setting
anonymous access rights so anonymous users can post comments and that seems to
work.

I would prefer not to show anonymous users the "view all site content" but there
doesn't seem to be any easy way to hide it. In an Intranet I would give site
visitors the "restricted read" permission but you don't seem to have that
flexibility with anonymous access. I guess I could open SharePoint Designer at
some point and remove it from the master page, but does anyone have any other
ideas?

Another oddity is that I applied a theme to the site, just for laughs. However,
the theme does not take effect for anonymous users. I see the default colour
scheme when I access the site anonymously, then after I login, the site changes
colour to the theme. Any ideas on that?

You could always use javscript to hide  certain features. Which is what I do with
SP2007 and users.
