anonymous login

Asked By: Vaasu    Date: Mar 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 783

I builded a sharepoint web for my school. Due to more than 7000 students I
didn't give account for each student. So I just allow anonymous login by the
IUSER@machine_name account. However, no one can be identified as the
administrator. How can I let some people log in as coordinators and the
other as anonymous users?

I believe that when you allow for anonymous  users, even name accounts
are treated as anonymous users by IIS. Look at the whitepaper for
extranets. It discusses how to create a second site which you can set up
for integrated access or basic auth. Admins can go through this site.
Another option would be to remove anonymous access and set for basic
auth. Then create a user /password that the students can use.
