Asked By: Eve    Date: Dec 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 967

I have a sharepoint list where anonymous access is enabled. The rek is user
should be able to edit his own item. I tried the list settings but its not
working.

If the site is anonymous  how is SharePoint supposed to determine who you are to
enforce any security? SharePoint can't limit who can edit  what if it doesn't
know who you are.

Can't we control it through the "author" field....

Do you mean there is no way to implement the security, Its a public facing site

"Author" is a metadata column, not security. If you want users to be able to
modify items based upon security permissions you need to extend your public
facing site to a new web application and require authentication on the new web
app.
