Allowing someone else to approve other persons task

Asked By: Bobbi    Date: Jul 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 4850

Is there any way to allow another user to approve someone else's
tasks? Just in case the user is absent and the task really needs to be
approved?

Did you ever get answer/solution to this?? I have the same issue that I need to
resolve. Have several items that need to be re-routed to another user  for
approval. Solution to date has been delete item and have original user resubmit
to a different user for approval... time consuming and inconvenient.

Suggestions?

Tasks generated by a workflow can be approved by anyone who has approval
authority in the task  list where the task is being stored. But I suspect what
you are really asking is for a way to re-assign them and send an email with the
task from inside the workflow. That would be difficult to do in an SPD workflow
due to the limited actions available. If you just direct the user  to the Task
library they can edit and approve  the tasks themselves manually.
