My Alerts and RSS

Asked By: Virgil    Date: Nov 06    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1020

If you go:

CA -> Application Management (under SharePoint Web Application Management) ->
Web Application General Settings.

Alerts and RSS Setting can be turned off. I did successfully turn off Alerts but
i had a think abt it and ive come to the conclusion that all email alerts going
out to users will be disabled as well in that particular web application. That,
I cudnt test cos i dont have an exchange server on my test environment as i am
concentraing on content managment at the moment.

Secondly, the Search results page shows the Alerts and RSS on the top right
corner of the page. We want them removed which is why i went through the above
setting trying to remove both.

Does anyone have any ideas disabling or removing Alerts and RSS?

By the way when i turn off RSS through CA -> ........... its still showing and
its still clickable.
