I've got a Subarea in the portal. When I login with the "Site
Administrator" role I see the "Alert me" link that allows me to add an
alert. When I add a user only to the Subarea using Manage Security, the
user does not see the "Alert me" link. I've given the user all the
permissions possible in the Manage security, Advanced, and choose
"Select All" for rights.

Why does this user not see the "Alert me" link?

Does the user have to access to the entire portal to use alerts? (I only
want them to have access to that Subarea)
