Alerts for Document Workspaces

I need to set up alerts which notify me when a new Document Workspace
is created or an existing one amended. I just can't seem to find how
I do it!

Go to any existing  Document Library that you have access to and you should
see a link 'Alert Me' in the left navigation area.

AFAIK there isn't any way to be alerted when a new Document Library is
created.
