My Alert Settings

We have a site that has about 5 subsites linked to it. Our users are
finding it confusing that when they click on the my setting link (at the
top of the screen) and then click on my alerts how it only displays
their alerts on that specific subsite only as opposed to all of their
alerts that they have setup on all the subsites. Is there a setting or
a hack or a way that they can view all of their alerts they have setup
across all the subsite of the site?

I agree it is annoying that you cannot see all your alerts  in one
place in SharePoint 2003 (which I assume is the version you are
running, and the only one I know). If you are also running Outlook
2003 there is the option to view  all your alerts (across all your WSS
sites and sub-sites, not just within one site  collection). In Outlook
click Tools then Rules and Alerts. You can see all alerts and
remove/edit as well.

The design in 2007 is to use Outlook to view  and manage alerts, not
SharePoint. FYI.
