Address & Server Name Changed!

Asked By: Adrianna Dyer         Date: Nov 04, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 632

(SPS 2003)
Network guys moved our SharePoint Dev server, re-IP'd it and renamed
it. (Nothing else has changed. SQL Server is running on the same
box).
- And now SharePoint's broken.
- On the WSS Central Admin page, I was able to Set the Config
database and Content database to the new db name, but...
- When I go to SharePoint Portal Server, it takes me DIRECTLY to
Configure Server Account Settings. Fine. I enter the account info,
hit OK and BAM I get "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key
that has been marked for deletion.". I can't get to any other page
on SPS Central Admin - all links route me back to the Account
Settings page.

I'm hopelessly stuck. Please help.

Can you verify that SQL Server is running properly
after the rename?

Yes - of course that was one of the first things I checked. I can
connect to SQL Server and all the SharePoint DBs and tables are there.
