Adding WebParts to AllItems.aspx within Site Definition

Asked By: Courtney    Date: Nov 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 3339

I have created a (very cool!) webpart to replace the QuickLaunch, and
I want to add it to everypage at page creation. Adding to my custom
pages was easy, but I cannot figure out how to modify SCHEMA.XML
inside the DOCLIB folder to automatically add the webparts to the
zones I have added to allitems.aspx. Has anyone done this?

You don't modify SCHEMA.XML to add a webpart to a page, you modify ONET.XML
and put it in the AllUsersWebPart tag (it's basically a copy of your dwp for
the webpart).

P.S. Bob Mixon also has a QL replacement that's quite nice.

Actually, you do. Schema.xml is the list definition  equivelent of
onet.xml.

As for adding  it... Look at the issues list and use the alluserswebpart tag.
