Asked By: Diamond    Date: Jan 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 7140

portal server.

I added these users by going to Site Settings -> Manager Users ->
Add Users, entered the email address, selected the site group,
checked the option to send the notification to the user that he has
been assigned as a user to the site.

All the users got added to the site but for one of the users the
email address was not present.

to verify the same I followed the followinf path

Site Settings -> Go to SharePoint Portal Server central
administration - > Manage Web site users, entered the site url and
then entered the account name in the change existing user section,
the name and the site groups selected while the user was being added
were displayed but the email address was blank and this happened for
one user only...

Just to be more doubly sure that the email address exisits in the
Active Directory, I did the following...

Site Settings -> Manage Profile Database ->Add user Profile, then
selected the same user and then i could see the email address being

I am unable to understand why I am not able to see the email address
of the user when I added the user through Add Users.

Other thing which suprised me was when i add this same user to a
windows sharepoint services site, i can see the email address....
