Asked By: Edmond    Date: Jan 08    Category: MOSS    Views: 6384

I have created a custom list in sharepoint 2007. List contain lots of
data. So searing the data in the list is problem. So i am planning to
add an search for the list. Is it possible to add a search for a list?
It should accept the criteria from user and display those record in the
list. Is it possible in sharepoint 2007? If it possible please tell me
the step i need to follow to achive this?

From the context of any list  you should be able to search  just that list's
contents.

I think you can create a scope for advanced search  that only
searches items in a specific list  by creating the scope and
specifying a "site" and entering the URL of the list as the site.
Make sure it is just the URL of the list, not including a form/page
name like "allitems.aspx".
