Adding NetWork Place To Sharepoint Site

Asked By: Dario    Date: Mar 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1356

How to restrict users in adding networkplace to sharepoint sites. If users add a network place they are able to see all the documents in document library. In sharepoint we are using My Forms view so that every user can see his own documents only. But if user add a network place he is able to see all documents.

How to restrict ??

One option is to turn off Web Dav. It opens up all kinds of issues like
this. Web Dav is a nice feature if you can leave it on but sometimes it
is easiest to just shut it off. That said, I haven't researched how to
shut it off. I'm guessing it is simply a server setting somewhere.

Anyone know?

Not really a solution, but something I ran into in the past.. If you turn WebDav on in IIS, it breaks the SharePoint WebDav, and neither work.. SharePoint has it's own WebDav extensions that require the IIS WebDav options to be turned off. If you want to turn SharePoint WebDav off (I've not found an option to do so) -- Just turn IIS WebDav on..
