Adding metadata to PDF file type when saving from Word

Date: Feb 26    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 7385

In SP2010, I have created a content type and a Word template, the metadata works
as expected when creating new Word files (docx). However, when I Save As to pdf
from Word, the new PDF file does not contain any of the metadata, eventhough the
PDF is assigned to the same content type. Does anyone have any suggestions for
solving this problem?

Are they saving the PDF locally and then copying to the document library or
saving it directly to SharePoint?

saving directly to sharepoint, using File Save As, PDF, then picking a
sharepoint document library from within Word.
