Adding Help Search

Asked By: Ryan White         Date: Jul 29, 2004      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1261

Once in a while I read a document that sheds light on a issues running around in my head. I'll assume that many of us are looking for material on how we can optimize SharePoint and wanted to share the following document.

The page sensitive help system in SharePoint does not have a search feature. This document does a great job of walking you through the process as well as establishing 1) searching and indexing and 2) search scopes. This document is well worth the 5 minutes it takes to understand some of the finer points of SharePoint. You'll understand the foundation to searching and indexing and create a cool tool for your customers.

Kudos to Eugene Rosenfeld for writing this article. If you've got more like this please share. I think many of us would benefit from this type of practical application.
