Active directory group wise view permission on web parts.

Asked By: Cara    Date: Aug 06    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1021

Right now I am
implementing share point.
I am trying to add Active Directory user groups in the Share Point.
According to Active directory users groups I want to give view
permission on the web parts.
We can assume a situation as example as follows:
a) Only the users under the "Executive" group of Active Directory
Can view the "Events" web part.
b) Only the users under the "Manager" group of the Active Directory

Can view the "Image Library" web part.

Is there any provision in Share Point 2003 to do this.

There is a provision in SharePoint 2003 for to implement permissions
in the webpart.

There is an Audience feature in sharepoint in which you can give
security permissons to the webpart. Please go through this feature.

I wanted to block the web  part based on Active Directory user  Group.
In that case, Audience is not the solution. Because via Audience we
can not block a user from accessing a web part. To go to the events
web part  user can use the following link :
http://projectsrv/Lists/Events/AllItems.aspx
So, what will be the exact solution to prevent users  from accessing
specific web parts.

You set the permissions on the list and then control visibility of the web  part through audiences.
