Account Create Mode and Portal 2003

Asked By: Pamela Ortiz         Date: Oct 02, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 238

I am having problems getting Sharepoint portal to be configured using Active
Directory account create mode. The documents indicate this must be setup on
the Sharepoint Service install using the setupsts.exe remotesql=true. Here
is what I have done. I have ran this setup using the remotesql=true option
and created a top level site and Account creation work fine. Now when I
install the Sharepoint Portal 2003 the Sharepoint services are re-installed
and the AD Account creation no longer works. Is this a supported feature in
Sharepoint Portal 2003? There is a whole section on this in the Portal help
file.

Items changed when the portal was installed.
1) A new Sharepoint admin db was created
2) The Sharepoint admin WS port was changed.

AD Account Creation Mode is not supported in SharePoint Portal Server, only in
Windows SharePoint Services.
