Accidental deletion of Contributor access

Asked By: Nirmal Chandratre         Date: Aug 02, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 213

I just want to ask if how we could restore back the Contributor
access when the out of the box Contributor is deleted? We have
accidentally deleted the contributor access and recreated it but we
cannot see some of the webparts when browsing if we are not a member
of an out of the box access. We have added customized access level
but we need to have a Contributor access as the lowest for security
but accidentally we deleted it. Is there a work-around on this
problem because when we created a new Contributor access, we still
can't view the webparts when browsing it.

Yes you can make a new group, giving the access  rights as appropriate.
All the access rights parameters shall be shown to you when u will
create a new group, and u can have a new name for that group as well.

however i tried re-creating the
Contributor access  but I can't still view  the web parts when browsing
it. I don't know if this is a bug that will be fixed when SP1 for
Sharepoint is released to our servers. I have also tried putting a
check mark on all the rights that can be assigned to the new
contributor group hoping that it might be some rights that was not
checked but we can't still see the availabe webparts  when browsing  in
adding a webpart to a page.. I have added  you up on my YM so that i
could chat with you but i think you offline..
