Accessin List using windows based applications

Can any body giude me on accessing wss list using windows based application
(programatically using c#)
My scenario is i recquire to add one column in a list across multiple sites
,which i wanted to do it using windows application,
Is that possible ,if yes how

Take a look at the SharePoint SDK available on MSDN - specifically the section
on the available web services.
