Access portal over the internet

Is there a way I can allow access to my portal site over the
internet? I am testing out teh demo version of SPS 2003.

Go into SharePoint Central Administration and under portal  Site and
Virtual Server Configuration, select Configure alternate portal site
URLs for intranet, extranet and custom access. Hover over the virtual
server name of your portal and select edit. In the extranet URL box,
enter in the URL you want users to access  the portal via extranet.
