403 Forbidden errors

Asked By: Cyrus    Date: Nov 14    Category: MOSS    Views: 1798

I have a MOSS Portal which has problems with users being unable to
create new blog posts on their MySites: "403 Forbidden". An user has
full control on his own MySite so it's not a permissions problem.

I've had this issue before, which I could resolve by
deinstalling .NET 2.0 hotfix 928365. This hotfix has been deinstalled
by the .NET 2.0 Service Pack 1 installation, but I suppose the
functionality of the hotfix is now in the .NET 2.0 Service Pack 1 and
it's breaking my MOSS server!
The problem is actually an impersonation issue in .NET 2.0, but why
is it causing my MOSS server problems?

.NET 2.0 SP1 (and .NET 3.5 SP1) was installed Dec 4th and we
installed WSS3/MOSS SP1 Dec 28th. At the beginnin of the year,
problems started to occur with creating new blogposts on their
MySites. 'Normal users' have problems, administrators have not.

I'm looking for a solution. I don't want to deinstall .NET 2.0 SP1
just to get MOSS to function properly again.

Environment summary
Windows 2003 x64 R2 SP2 (US)
.NET 2.0 SP1 + .NET 3.0 SP1
