If you could have just one 3rd party tool for SharePoint

Asked By: Tracie    Date: Aug 13    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 12602

What would it be? Why?
We're on MOSS 2007, maybe going to 2010 next year, don't do development.
Approximately 15000 users. Thanks for your suggestions.

Take a look at ControlPoint by Axceler. It is aimed at Administrators, not
developers, and makes their life easier. They can do bulk operations, view
reports, see all their farm heirarchy at a glance, delegate things to site
administrators, copy/move sites and lists, etc., etc.

I would get a tool for granular restore functionality. But maybe you already
have something like that.

Granular restore is a big, big deal -- especially
with that many users and the content that most likely results.

Yes, I have experience with the Idera SharePoint Backup tool. Works well, but
I've not been impressed with their technical support.
