2007 Web Service/CAS question

  Asked By: Krista    Date: Apr 12    Category: MOSS    Views: 839

I am trying to access a web service from a web part in 2007. I am
getting an error when I run under WSS_Medium trust (it works under
full). I know this is a CAS problem and have read through a few
articles, but the changes it suggests don't seem to make sense for
2007. Here is the error:

The Web Part appears to be causing a problem. Request for the
permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

I was going to add the IPermission node to the wss_mediumtrust.config
file, but it looks like it is already there in 2007. Can anyone point
me in the right direction of what to do?

I had to add  the path to the web  server in my wss_custom.config file.

<URI uri="http://my-web-server/.*"/>

You can use this to allow access  to web services, servers, and
external sources.

What account is the Web Service actually running under? Are you
on the same box that the Web Service is running on?
