I found below description on msd2d description for 2003 .Question it
is works on 2007?

"The My site is a personal  site for a user that is created on demand
based on an existing template that comes with Sharepoint. I had many
clients ask me to change the template of the my site to either include
or exclude some structure or webparts. You might think this is hard to
do . . . not really! You just need to get the desired file on
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\60\TEMPLATE\2070\SPSMSITE(default.aspx or public.aspx for
private or public views respectively) and change them using Frontpage
2003. All changes will be reflected on new and existing My sites.
Note: First of all backup the original files to be changed, you never
know when you will need to recover from mistakes. Probably you'll need
to perform an IISRESET".
